On December 17-18, 2018, head of the Center for international studies of the faculty of international relations of BSU Goretsky A. S. took part in the international conference “non-Discrimination as one of the basic values of modern society”held in Chisinau.

Representatives of the Supreme Court, the Ministry of labour, employment and social protection of the population, the National centre for legislation and legal research (hereinafter — NTSPI) of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the Centre for human rights of the faculty of international relations of BSU also took part from the Republic of Belarus.

The conference discussed some areas of combating discrimination and ensuring equality in European countries, especially the protection of vulnerable groups (Roma), as well as the reports of the countries of the European Union initiative “Eastern partnership” on these issues.

Experience of legal regulation of combating discrimination and promoting equality in the Republic of Belarus was represented by the adviser-consultant of the Department of constitutional law Department of constitutional and international law, NZSE V. Disco.

Following the conference, the sides exchanged views on possible ways to strengthen the protection of citizens ‘ rights in the above areas.
